Heart Beat

Ba-bum ba-bum
The calm heart beats
A calmness in the air, a peace in the streets
Silently the sun swiftly sets
The dangers arise, evil places bets
What are the odds you’ll live the night
What was that sound? Was it your fright?
Ba-bum ba-bum ba-bum
The heart turns up the frequency
Your body shivers, surrounded by delinquency
Go left, no right! Not down the dark alley
Turn the corner, only to enter death valley
Stripping you of money and clothes isn’t their goal
These dark citizens are after your soul
Ba-bum ba-bum ba-bum ba-bum
The heart now the star of a bloody thriller
Your eyes locked on your would be killer
Mind confused, do I fight or run?
Either way he’ll cut you down fir fun
Drop to your knees beg for life
A smile breaks out as he licks his knife
Ba-bum ba-bum ba-bum ba-bum ba-bum
Adrenaline takes over as you plead
The chemical fuels your instinctual need
Rush him, fight to survive
He thrusts for you to no longer be alive
Struggle on until warm flesh meets cold steel
The crimson life force oozes from the blades meal
Ba-bum…. ba-bum….. ba-bum
The heart begins to slow
With each vicious stab the crimson will flow
This is the true end
There is no way a severed ventricle will mend
Lifeless eyes, the reaper has played his roll
Ever so quietly, these are the final sounds of your soul
Ba-bum….. ba-bum
