Muscle Memory

It takes 5-53 muscles to smile

Heartbreak only requires 1

With you I could handle any work any style

Without you my soul is done

Muscles withered and wasting away

A soul too weak to thrive

A dead love that kept darkness at bay

A heart ruptured and barely alive

The muscles remember when things were good

They ache for those days to return

But the soul has weakened more than it should

Now the muscles eternally burn

Weakness is my way for a while

No strength to even look to the sun…

It takes 5-53 muscles to smile….

…Heartbreak only requires 1.
