Let’s talk Candy Shop

Happy Monday all, since October has started I’ve been trying to promote my Candy Shop Novel in honor of my birthday and so far it’s been fun. This novel is the story of a young woman, Jordan Jones, who must deal with the drama in her life one problematic day at a time. Her nightlife as a stripper to support her 3 year old son whilst she tries to finish college puts her at odds with her non supportive, belittling family. The child’s father is a monster in and of himself. Her world is always one step away from crashing until she meets someone who helps her find love for herself. The Candy Shop is an urban drama set in the fictional city of Chamberlyn, New York. Jordan Jones is a young black woman who is the object of many a man’s fantasy is working hard to finish college during the day and as a stripper at night for The Candy Shop Strip Club to provide for her three year old son, Grey. With very few friends to rely on and a basically nonexistent family she’s become skeptical of the world, and very cut off. She wears sarcasm and a bad attitude like body armor as she deals with the criticisms of the world. The father of her child is a successful lawyer who is more underhanded than he seems to the public, and he’ll stop at nothing to achieve his goals. But a messed up family and a demented baby daddy are the least of her problems as a new sinister figure moves into town to take over the seedy underbelly and sets his sights on her. Sex, drugs, and danger leave very little room for love, but even love finds Jordan Jones in Chamberlyn, New York. Welcome to The Chamberlyn Chronicles

August Wish

What’s up world!? How’s life right now? I trust all is well. Welcome to August, school is about to start, temperatures take their last rise before they fall, and football tension rises amongst coworkers.

It’s the beginning of the month and the perfect time to plan out your monthly goals. I’m calling it an August Wish. Take a moment and write out all you hope to accomplish and check them off as you complete them. Seeing is believing, and seeing those goals checked off is an satisfying accomplishment all its own. Make your August Wish come true friends!

My August Wish
1. Finish the first draft of my novel, The Candy Shop.
2. Start the process on finding a literary agent.
3. Find more beta readers for my novel.
4. Write more poetry.
