What Do You See?

thvdeeuis8

Mr. Policeman what do you see

When you see my African-American skin wrapped around the soul within me

Is something in melanin that tells some not to serve & protect?

Or is it simply a different skin tone you reject?

Do you see that I’ve been robbed?

Or do you see us committing robbery as a mob?

Can you fathom an interracial love on your surveillance tape?

Or is it just a blond haired Blue-eyed rape?

Have you seen a Negro reach for their ID?

Or do you empty your gun just cause, turning them into human debris?

Have you seen my compliance & hat I’m unarmed?

Or do you blindly abuse & murder me to save yourself from imaginary harm?

Will you ever understand why we continually protest?

Or do your eyes behold unpatriotic anarchy & civil unrest?

Do you carry the weight of a mother’s tears when her baby dies?

Or do you rejoice like the Lord answered your cries?

Can you understand that the Black has been raped by the blue?

Or is this the only way of life you see as true?

My unlabeled soul ask all you labelers I see,

Mr. Policeman, What do you see?

Spectres and phantoms

image

The inner city sky is set ablaze by the firefly orbs held within/
Quiet strangled the streets/
Only faint echoes of automotive ghosts wail in the distance/
One can smell it, the sky will cry soon/
That’s when the spectre will hunt/
Cloaked in the blue Laws, he prowls/
Shining his light on all that is fowl/
Ready strike with ferocity in the night/
Full of bravado, pride, and yes fright/
Scared of what he may or may not have to do is the spectre’s life/
But his prey, the phantom, has his own strife/
He must straddle the thin line of evil and good/
Fill the flame-riddled streets with bacteria, or live peacefully misunderstood/
Some of the phantoms will spread their outbreak, sending the Spectre into a frenzy/
His fear will cause all phantoms to wear the guise of am enemy/
The misunderstood will lose their innocence/
The spectre will lose his benevolence/
And the bacteria now takes prevalence in the once peaceful inner city streets/
No longer can the phantom walk them and feel safe/
No longer can the spectre feel capable without force/
No longer quiet are our streets under the flames/
Soon the sky will cry as we deflect the fallen names/
Oh what I wouldn’t give to just have those skies set ablaze again/
One without the spectres and phantoms living in sin.

Animal Theft Via Craigslist

The world as we know it today is filled with many different kinds of people. Not all of them are good I’m afraid. You may encounter these “bad” people even if you are doing something positive in this world. Just met with a client that went through a terrifying ordeal with their pet who was lost for a little while. In the span of 30 minutes time the dog jumped the fence and was picked up by a good Samaritan in the neighborhood. They could find no identifying tags on the pet so they posted a “Lost dog” ad on Craigslist which as we all know is region specific. This was done in the good faith that maybe their owner would search and find the pet on there. Within a few hours a family comes to claim the pet. This dog is one sweet, loving, gorgeous dog that would go with anyone who beckoned him so naturally the good Samaritan didn’t know better when this family claimed him.

The people who claimed him weren’t his actual owners and they took the dog and did God only knows what to him. He wasn’t neutered so he was possibly going to be used as a stud dog, or possibly as a fighting dog. A sad truth, but people will claim lost dogs online for plenty of nefarious purposes. The actually owner of the dog found the craigslist ad and contacted the lady who found the pet and was horrified to find out that she has given away this woman’s dog. She eagerly gives up all info she had on the person who claimed the pet. The real owner called the police and gave all the info to them so they could retrieve her pet, only for the police to say that there is no way for them to prove that the pet belongs to the owner if they were to go. The owner promptly replied that she has the pet microchipped. They simply, and rudely responded “We don’t carry scanners on us to check.”

The owner was appalled at this fact, because they were going to do nothing to help her retrieve her pet. Luckily she had a friend who was a detective that took it upon themselves to investigate the case. As the pressure mounted against the thieves they arranged an exchange for the pet and the owner got their dog back. Normally this would be a happy ending, but we don’t live in a normal world. The pet was returned with puncture wounds and lacerations all over its body that cost the owner money to repair. Money that 9 times out of 10 a person isn’t prepared to spend at the drop of a hat. It’s shocking that a person can do all they can for their pet and have a microchip put in and still receive no help from the police. In this case the owner was reunited with their pet, but that isn’t always the outcome. some people lose their family member forever sadly.

If a case like this ever occurs to you and you have a microchip implanted in your dog and you call the cops for help, possibly request that animal control go out there with them or instead of them. Animal patrol officers carry scanners, or at least are more likely to than a police officer. Continue to press the issue, especially if you are basically spoon feeding the police all the information they need to retrieve your pet.

Here in Myrtle Beach we can call the Horry County Dispatch, 843-248-1520, and ask to speak with animal control.

Never sit back and think this could never happen to you, it very well could. We pray that it never does, but if it does Hopefully you can have a happy ending like in this case.

Things Vet Techs Don’t Like Vol. 3

image

This is becoming more true each day

It’s time for the third round of Things Vet Techs Don’t Like. at this point I’m sure this list will never end, and I now accept it as therapy. That and wine…

Insert theme of Cops Here

Calling The Cops
Working in this field you encounter so many different types of people. One of the worse types of people are the ones that skip out on the bill. That one prick you encounter that just decides “I’m not paying my bill because…” They will have some bogus reason that suggest that you are an agent of Satan after money and not an employee of a business collecting payment for services rendered. They’ll make a scene, confusing and/or causing that awkward feeling to spread like a wildfire across the lobby and then leave in a hurried huff. Now you must call the cops because they just stole your services and/or products. In South Carolina, that’s petty Larceny and punishable by a $500 fine and 30 days in jail. Once the cop shows up on your doorstep as an armed bill collector the client usual comes groveling back with payment in hand.

I Don’t Know How Long He’s Been Like This…
That phrase is the most annoying Frickin thing to hear. It’s like saying I’ve been ignorant to the neglect of my animal, but that’s cool. No, no it’s not cool. Coming into any clinic with a pet that has an embedded anything is an instant red flag. Every veterinary professional you see henceforth is a raging bull only concerned with helping your pet, and contemplating calling animal control. We don’t, just don’t understand how something gets embedded without you noticing. How do you not pet or observe your animal enough to see a collar is getting too damn tight? This just infuriates me.

We're all in the medical field right?

I’m A Doctor/Dentist/Optometrists, Allow Me To Treat You Like Shit
This one affects all in the building, not just the Vet Techs. Every veterinary professional has encountered this. It seems that when other medical professionals need veterinary services they just view us as a group of people playing dress up with puppies and kittens. We must not have any kind of real education and don’t understand the science behind medicine. Other medical professionals more often than not come in and act superior to is and try to act like our degrees and education mean nothing next to there’s. They often try to engage in intellectual sparring and get mad that we can actually jeep up with them. Often they try to tell you how they would treat a problem or what the problem actually is, and once you diagnose the issue and go over treatment they always have something to say. Sweet God this is annoying and infuriating, and makes us borderline violent. What happened to common courtesy, it’s usually these clients that give us the most hell during our work day. They should be the ones that are the most understanding. Nope they’d rather make sure you know you aren’t a Medical Doctor, Dentist, or Optometrist. So we have to remind them that you aren’t a Veterinarian, that’s why you came here. Respect our position and well respect yours.

That’s just a few more for the never ending rage inducing list. Do you have any to add? I’m going to go to sleep before I lose it. That’s just my two cents.
